Dairy and Nut Free Options for Holiday Food Traditions

Happy holidays, everyone! Often, the holiday season is filled with many traditions, especially ones including food. But that doesn’t mean you have to miss out if you have food allergies! Here are some dairy and nut free substitutes for classic holiday activities.

Cookie Decorating

Decorating cookies is one of my favorite holiday activities! There are so many safe alternatives to cookies that don’t even require you making your own recipe.

One of my favorites is Pillsbury Refrigerated Cookie Dough. Always check the ingredients with this cookie dough; however, because some of their other options (including ones that look very similar) may contain nuts. Another allergen safe alternative I recommend is Sweet Loren's! This brand is great because they have fun holiday flavors such as gingerbread and mint, which are perfect for the season.

If you need some frosting too, I would recommend checking back at Pillsbury which also has great dairy and nut free frosting. Just be sure to always check the ingredients! And need some chocolate chips to complete your cookies? Check out an allergen-safe favorite, Enjoy Life. They have an extensive selection from white chocolate to semi-sweet. I definitely love their semi-sweet option!

Gingerbread Houses

Having a safe gingerbread house option is not impossible when you have Yum Earth! Their gingerbread baking kit is top nine free, which is awesome for an inclusive holiday activity. Their gingerbread house kit includes everything from cookie cutters to safe jelly beans.

Advent Calendars

Lots of Advent calendars are filled with chocolate that is not allergen safe. However, No Whey has ensured that there is a safe option for everyone with food allergies. Top nine free chocolate is so exciting for a safe holiday tradition!

Candy Canes

Sometimes, even candy canes aren’t safe for those with food allergies. That’s why Yum Earth has super sweet options, including top nine free classic candy canes and blue raspberry candy canes.
