This is one of my favorites and is quick and simple to make. It was an easy, tasty snack to bring to school for lunch and is also a really good one to share with friends! I used to love bringing it to taekwondo competitions for a quick energy boost between rounds.
Time Required
45 minutes
Yield
18 servings
Allergen Information
Contains: milk (can use a dairy-free butter alternative if preferred)
Free of: wheat, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, sesame, fish, and shellfish
Ingredients
300g marshmallows or 200g mini marshmallows
45g butter or margarine
180g Rice Krispies cereal
1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions
Line a square baking tin or tray with baking paper to prevent the treats from sticking.
Place butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Add marshmallows and stir.
Add in Rice Krispies cereal and vanilla extract and continue to stir.
Put the mixture into a tin and press down firmly with a spoon or spatula.
Wait for the mixture to cool and set for 30 minutes. Enjoy!
Chef's Tips: For extra flavor, you can add chocolate chips, sprinkles, or drizzle melted chocolate over the top once the treats have cooled.
Store the Rice Krispie Treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days to keep them fresh.
